Week-end Updates

Speed Doubler 2.0.3 and Ethernet (Built-In) 1.0.5 beta a. Speed Doubler 2.0.3 Update is out. You can also get this from the MRP mirror. Among other things, it fixes problems associated with Mac OS 7.6.1 (as described here previously).

Scott Newman writes: "I just installed the new SD update (2.0.3) and like a lot of people I installed it without restarting with extensions off. I didn't get any error messages and assumed everything was updated, but when I checked, the SD extension was updated correctly while the control panel wasn't (it was still version 2.0.1). Restarting with extensions off and doing a new install from the master disk corrected the problem."

Update: While not every one reports having this problem (it probably depends upon which extensions you have), one reader claimed he had the same problem when updating from 2.0 to 2.0.1.

b. A beta release of Ethernet (Built-In) 1.05 (1.05b7) is bundled with the AppleShare Client 3.7 seed 4.1 update. (Thanks, Chris Burgess.)
