Following are some of the notable tech-related events scheduled for the week of April 20.

The tech focus is on servers this week, as Microsoft finally releases Windows Server 2003, the oft-delayed and renamed high-end version of its operating system for business computing.

Earnings action continues, as well, with numbers due from media giant AOL Time Warner, e-commerce stars eBay and Amazon.com, and communications biggies Verizon Communications and AT&T.

  • The American Enterprise Institute hosts "The New Antitrust Paradox," an examination of the current state of antitrust law featuring talks by several veterans of the Microsoft trial. The conference runs April 21-22 in Washington, D.C.

Tuesday, April 22

  • All-in-one semiconductors and pervasive computing will be among the themes at the Embedded Systems Conference, devoted to the overlooked chips that run everything from handheld computers to airplanes.       • Durable Goods measures the value of all goods shipped or ordered with an intended lifespan of three years or more. The total is expected to drop 1 percent for March, after a 1.2-percent decline the previous month.

      • Gross Domestic Product is the broadest measure of overall U.S. economic activity. First-quarter growth is expected to be 2.5 percent up from 1.4 percent the previous quarter.

    • Home Sales tracks housing activity. March sales of existing homes are expected to rise to 5.9 million, from 5.84 million the previous month. New home sales are expected to jump to 940,000 from 854,000 the previous month.
