Hot-spot network operator Wayport is offering its subscribers free downloads of the full electronic edition of The New York Times. The Austin, Texas-based company said earlier this month that it is teaming with NewsStand, a partner that distributes electronic versions of print media, on the content agreement.

Individuals who purchase a subscription to the electronic version of the newspaper will also receive a $25 prepaid connection card to the Wayport hot-spot service. Hot spots are public areas where individuals can connect to a Wi-Fi wireless network to use shared resources such as a broadband Internet connection.
