Wapp pro and DeskTray: MIA for now Jerome Foucher writes: "I'm the author of Wapp pro and DeskTray. I just wanted to tell you that my web site and my email at Geocities/Yahoo has been suspended by Yahoo. I expect to have everything back to another host (a real one this time) before the end of this week. In the mean time, I can be reached at this email : jeromef@matpr.kth.se." USB update fixes wake from sleep crashes? A reader informs us that the release notes for the just released Mac OS USB DDK 1.41f2/f3 versions claim that the update fixes the USB wake-from-sleep problem - as has plagued users of Kensington and Macally mouse/trackballs (see this previous item for example and this report for more background). Hard drive spin up bug is back? Back in 1998, Apple reported a bug with the Power Mac 8600 and Mac OS 8.0/8.1, where the hard drive would spin up during sleep (see TIL article #30515). Disabling Energy Saver was a work-around. Paul Goodrich claims that the problem has returned on his "G4 400 (Yikes) and some G3's all using Mac OS 9." Others confirm this. Putting the Mac to sleep a second time may work. Personally, we have seen this on occasion, but just as often things work as intended. Our guess is that it< varies depending in the exact settings in the Energy Saver control panel. Mac OS 9 Print Window bug reported Two readers (Kjartan Olafsson and Bernie Sigal) report the same symptom with Mac OS 9: When using the Finder's "Print Window" command (for printing the contents of a folder), if your print out goes beyond one page, you only get three lines of text on page two (I assume it was a List view that was being printed) and that's it. It happened on several different Macs and an assortment of printers. TIL article #30859 describes a similar problem in Mac OS 8.5.
