VST floppy drive incompatible with Mac OS X 10.2.x
Brent Rossow notes that the VST/SmartDisk USB floppy drive is incompatible with Mac OS X 10.2.x:
"According to VST/SmartDisk's web site, their "USB Floppy Drive - Mac Only" product is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.2. There's no mention of why and requests to customer support for more details have gone thus far unanswered. We have a significant investment in these drives for our organization, so you can imagine the position has put us in after upgrading to 10.2 recently."
We are awaiting a reply from VST/SmartDisk on the issue, attempting to determine when (or if) an updated driver will be released.
In the meantime, several readers note that despite the compatibility warning, their VST floppy drives mount and function normally under Mac OS X 10.2.x.
