Vodafone has confirmed the launch dates for 4G in Liverpool and Glasgow are before the end of the month, with coverage extending further out of London from today.

4G will be turned on for scousers on 17 October and Glaswegians on 24 October, with Manchester to follow shortly afterwards.

And the service is being extended across the greater London area from Harlow in the north to Dorking in the south and from Dartford in the east to Windsor in the west.

Vodafone already offers 4G if you're in Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield. Networks Vodafone and O2 have finally got in the 4G game after a lengthy headstart for EE, a headstart that means EE has the fastest 4G and the widest coverage.

Right now 4G isn't cheap: Vodafone's Red 4G-ready plans start at £26 per month for just a SIM card -- if you want a phone, you'll have to shell out even more. Deals include unlimited minutes and texts and 2GB of data per month; but if you sign up before 31 October, you get an extra 4GB of data free.

Have you signed up to 4G, and is it any good? How much would you pay for 4G? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook page.
