VistaScan 3.5 (UK) fixes Astra scanner problems with SCSI cards

CNET staff
VistaScan 3.5 plug-in has been posted to UMAX's UK site, although 3.1 still appears to be the latest US version. Richard Fairbanks reports that this version fixed the problem he was having with his Astra scanner and the Adaptec 2940U2W SCSI card in his G3/BW.

According to a UMAX web page, it is a "maintenance SCSI and USB release adding support for Astra 2400S, plus minor bug fixes. This driver includes full support for the G3 BW systems with third-party SCSI cards (prior to this release MagicScan 4.2 G3 patch are recommended)." Another web page notes that " VistaScan 3.5 has now been released, however the full installer is approx. 56MB - as it would be impossible for many users to download a file of this size. Version 3.5 is not yet available on CD." Also see this web page for more on UMAX Scanners and compatibility with SCSI cards.
