Virex Definitions update fixes 32767 error

CNET staff
Jim Walter (of Network Associates) informs us: "The Sept. 1st Virex Definitions have been reposted (eUpdate and standard update). This new Virex definition update (Vx010904) fixes the following compatibility issues that were reported with the September 1st 2001 update:

The error 32767 problem with some application files. The strange but as yet unknown error (32767) that occurred when scanning some Application files was a memory-related issue and has now been resolved.

It is also recommended to increase the memory allocation for the Virex application. Virex can run low on resources when scanning very large volumes. To do this, select Get Info > Memory and increase the preferred size from 3.5 MB (the default) to 8 MB. In some circumstances, this may have to be increased further.

Compatibility issue with an old version of Connectix Virtual PC. Virtual PC 3.x reports a -23 error when attempting to start up and then fails to run. This issue did not occur with Virtual PC 4.0."

Peter Gersmann notes that the VPC problem did not occur with the August update.

Jeffrey Hammond notes that the new update fixed other problems he was having since installing the original update, including a "cursor that would 'skip' across the screen frequently."
