Utilities Updates: PrefsOverload; Disk Watcher; PowerMail; Password Retriever; Tape; PhotoGrid; more

PrefsOverload 3.5 is a tool for managing the Preferences folder. This update adds support for running under either OS X or earlier systems. Other changes include a new Aqua interface, the ability to open XML preference files, and it can exclude .plist files from the unnecessary items list.

Disk Watcher 1.0.7 automates/schedules Disk First Aid checks. This update fixes an issue with the unregistered version, and it will only install over an older copy of the utility.

PowerMail 3.1.1 is an alternative e-mail client. The update can now handle binhex attachments properly, the manual covers IMAP more carefully, and it now supports the ability to select AppleEvent-based spell-checkers.

Password Retriever 2.7.2 is a password storage utility. This release fixes the 128 bit encryption support, as well as a cosmetic glitch in the preferences window. It also adds 256 bit encryption and a 15 day trial version without limitations.

Tape 1.7.1 is a developer tool to edit OS 9 packages and OS X bundles. This update fixes a crash under OS X and blocks and errant error message. It also adds a Dock menu for 10.1.

PhotoGrid 2.5.2 is an image viewer with resizable thumbnails. This release adds support for new startup options and the ability to drag image files in GridView from the Finder.

Joliet Volume Access 2.0.1 allows the Mac to read Joliet (Win), and RockRidge CDs with long file names. This release fixes problems with session mounting with non-Apple CD drivers such as Toast CD Reader, and some other minor issues.

N2MP3 Pro 2.1b7 is the lates release of this MP3 encoder.

Cinemac for QuickTime 1.5.3 is screensaver software that utilizes QuickTime movies. No word on what is new in this update.

iPod Free File Access 2.0b1 allows access to the hidden music folder on the iPod. This update synchronizes any MP3/AIFF/WAV files from any iPod to any Mac. It also sports a new name and temporarily drops OS X support.

IE Cache Trasher 1.2.1 trashes IE's download cache file. This release fixes a problem that occurred when the download cache was too small. 

Mozilla 0.9.7 is the latest preview version of mozilla.org's browser. This release includes labels in Mail and News, basic S/MIME functionality, a Mac OS X collapse toolbar, ChatZilla .8.5, spring loaded folders, OS 8.5 support, and more.
