QuickTime 3.0.2 is out. According to a TIL file, "It is a maintenance release that addresses minor issues mainly related to third-party QuickTime applications. The changes include improvements to the AVI importer and text importer, and moderate playback performance enhancements." So far, Apple's Software Updates page does not list this as a new update.
Update: William Perez writes: "Also included is a new version of the QuickTime MPEG Extension version 1.1.1. The controller seems to work better with MPEG movies. Often the indicator would get stuck in the middle and not respond correctly which it still does sometimes when you play it backwards but going forwards seems fine now. Also be careful if you do a custom install. You'll get the Thread Manager thrown into your extensions even if you are running recent versions of the Mac OS which have it built into the system."

John Etnier adds: "Anyone obtaining this update in the hopes of being able to play newer AVI files should be advised that they still appear without picture in this version.

Installing the Conflict Catcher 8 demo If you install the CC8 demo, it will remove any previous copies of Conflict Catcher (not a big surprise really). If you decide not to upgrade, you will have to reinstall your old version. So make sure you have a back-up! [Note: you may have trouble reaching their Web site right now; it appears to be overloaded.]

And don't forget, starting next week, we will be giving away free copies of CC8!
