Utilities Updates: new Alsoft utility; OpenUsing 1.5; G3/G4 Profiler; more

Apple USB DDK 1.3f9 is the latest update to this USB software for developers.

OpenUsing 1.5 is a contextual menu plugin that can open a file using an application other than the file's creator. The plugin can also convert creator codes and file types to suit the chosen application. It's a minor update.

G3/G4 Cache Profiler 1.1 is out. This PowerLogix utility "can now work properly with a G4 processor and up to 2MB of cache when available. It also detects the speed of a G3 with a 10:1 bus ratio."

Quit CSM 1.7.6 is out. It allows you to quit applications, including the Finder, without having to make them active. The update fixes a few bugs, including one that could cause the computer to crash when the user tried to popup the Quit menu or the advanced Quit menu has been fixed

Road Runner Client 1.6b3 is a public beta of a "alternate login client for the Road Runner cable modem service."
