Utilities Updates: IPNetSentry; iListen; Tri-BACKUP; Rumpus; Happy Lasso; WebPrint Plus; more

IPNetSentry 1.3.1 is a software firewall to stops hackers, intruders, Code Red-type worms and more. This update adds full support for Opera and iCab browsers, Windows networking triggers to the IPNetSentry default configuration file (TCP and UDP Port 137) plus it fixes bugs which prevented the Aged Filter window from opening when run under Mac OS 8.1 or earlier and a bug in the Aged Filter table which prevented selection of another entry after an entry was deleted.

iListen 1.1 is a speech recognition and dictation utility. This release adds the ability to adapt the user's voice model through correction, scan plain text documents to learn new words, a new "One Shot Command" feature, and support for non-US languages, as well as many other features and bug fixes.

Tri-BACKUP 3.03 is an automatic backup and synchronization utility. This update adds one way programmed synchronization, under Mac OS 9 and 8, Tri-BACKUP opens at shutdown only if programmed actions are only set at shutdown, empty folders are copied and updated, and several minor fixes. (We also noted this item on yesterday's Mac OS X page.)

WebPrint Plus 5.0 can gather, save, and print information from almost application. In this version, new preferences allow the selection of which font, point size, and number of characters on a line. Other changes include user-selectable alert sounds and other enhancements and improvements.

iPod Free File Access 1.1b2 is a utility to access the hidden music folder on the iPod. Fixed in this release: refusing to run on Mac OS 8.x, several OS X workarounds and fixes.

Balloon Helper 1.0 creates custom keyboard shortcuts for quickly turning Balloon Help on and off.

SpeedApp 2.2 launches apps by typing part of their name, This release adds a new Keyboard shortcut configuration option, (available only for Mac OS 9 and newer), which allow the user to choose its favorite FKey shortcut by the Finder instead to use the old SpeedApp INIT method, and several other minor changes.

ICQ CSM 1.1 is a Control Strip Module to launch/switch to ICQ. This version supports ICQ 2.8X.

MacASP 0.90 is Web server-side scripting software. This update is MacHTTP friendly and it adds French and Japanese translations. 

QuickDNS Pro 3.5.3 is the latest release of this DNS (domain name system) server software.

XML Tools 2.3.2 is a general purpose XML parser and generator for AppleScript. This version allows whitespace to appear before the initial <?xml ... ?> element, and the generate XML command correctly emits whitespace between attributes with pretty printing is disabled.

VueScan 7.2.8 is scanner software for flatbed and film scanners. Changes include better locking exposure, a viewers preference, plus a number of hardware specific tweaks.

Netopia R-Series Routers 4.10b9 is a bug-fix firmware for the blue 8-port models.
