Utilities Updates: iNotePad, Sleeper; Discus; CTGC; .mail.it; Email Merge; BeMailer; FlightCheck; more

iNotePad 1.2 is an alternative to Apple's Note Pad. This update adds several new features, including the ability to create a new note by drag and dropping a clipping, encrypted notes must be decrypted before deletion, basic AppleScript support, and improved support for Korean encoding in iPublish.

Sleeper 3.2.3b4 is an Energy Saver control panel replacement that enhances the Mac's sleep capabilities. This release corrects a problem in the Sleeper Strip control strip module and adds an option not to control the backlight on PowerBooks (Sleeper normally powers it on and off with the screen).

Discus 2.28 is CD/DVD labeling software. This update adds support for additional papers, more languages, and it includes an online graphical manual.

CTGC 1.1 creates thumbnail galleries for local image browsing and file organization. This release adds text-link galleries with a file-size display.

.mail.it 1.1 adds email functionality to FileMaker. This release includes optimized memory management, better handling of large attachments, speed improvements, it resolves a conflict with some servers that use a multi-line protocol, and other network configuration issues.

Email Merge 2.0 is a tool to create batch mailings of individualized email messages. This version adds an option to specify the account to send each message from, support for CE Software's QuickMail, and several other minor improvements.

BeMailer 3.1 adds compatibility with MacOS 9.x, support for using Microsoft Entourage as an e-mail application, and other minor enhancements.

Markzware FlightCheck 3.9r6 Scans DTP files for potential problems. This update adds a Ground Control to detect and display PS Colors (colors with no names, generated by Postscript commands). It also corrects several problems with InDesign documents, a potential crash when Collecting a job under OS 8, and a problem with reporting embedded images in CorelDraw files.

My IP 1.2.3 is a tool that shows displays the IP address.

Netopia R-Series Routers 4.8.3 firmware (for the blue 8-port models.) The update improves PPTP throughput and PPPOE compatibility with the Redstone router.

Mac OS X only:

PPP Monitor 1.0b1 draws a history graph of throughput for the PPP connection. The graph display has several options, including appearing in the dock.

Outlaw 0.1b1 is a simple freeware image viewer with options such as resizing and scroll bars.

Cocoa Hack 1.1.2 converts resource files of Cocoa apps to make them editable. This version is less likely to crash if the user selects something that isn't a folder.
