Utilities Updates: InfoPopup; WipeResourceHeader; GraphicConverter; more

InfoPopup 1.5 has been released. It creates a floating window with a URL launcher and an email notifier. This version includes a popup menu that opens a URL with the appropriate Internet application. There is also a button that can tell you the number of messages waiting for you on your Internet POP email account. Finally, it fixed several bugs.

WipeResourceHeader "wipes or fills with zeros unused space in the resource fork header of Mac files. This unused space is filled with whatever data happens to be in the RAM used for the file buffer when a Mac file is created. Since this memory could contain anything left by a previous application, there is the possibility that data you would like to keep secure might end up in an unrelated file. Since most file transfer and file encoding programs and protocols preserve this data, transferring Mac files has the possibility of unintentionally revealing secure data to others. WipeResourceHeader addresses this possibility."
