Utilities Updates II: Apper; Web Confidential; Installer Observer; more

The Apper 1.0 allows you to instantly find and launch programs on your hard drive by simply typing the first few letters of the app. The list in the window updates as you type. This utility made such a good first impression that we instantly added it to our Download Library!

Web Confidential 1.3b4 has been released. It is an application that "manages your passwords and personal affairs." The 1.3 update adds support for Apple's forthcoming Keychain and now fully supports the iCab web browser. More details are in the Release Notes.

Installer Observer 2.3 has been released. It fixes a bug which could cause improper saving and reading of saved system states; adds a folder exclusions list as well as file exclusions list; adds the ability to automatically create backups of certain files and automatically restore those backed up files if necessary; and more. Wapp Pro 2.1p3 displays a menu that lists the windows of the frontmost applications, the background applications and their respective windows in submenus. You can activate any window, even it's hidden by several other windows, or if the process is hidden. And now from version 1.5, the Finder windows display their content in submenus up to 5 levels.

Finder's Friend 1.5 is a program that allows the user to restart or quit the Finder.

Item Informant 1.0 adds comments to a file that are shown in the "show item information" window of the Extension Manager.

QuickGo 1.0.1 displays a window at the right of your screen where you can type and save an Internet address (web, ftp, email, etc.).

NetFinder 2.0.1 is the latest update to this ftp client.

IPNetRouter 1.4c20 (yes that's right: c20!) is now out.

WebEvent 3.11 is a bug-fix update to the web-based scheduling program. For those already using WebEvent 3.1, use the Fast Upgrade installers.

VSE Be Found 1.3 helps web masters to obtain a high ranking of their web pages on search engines. The new version fixes a major bug with the built-in FTP client. It also offers many minor improvements.

VSE Web Site Turbo 3.0 strips unneeded data from web pages, resulting in size reductions averaging from 20 to 50 percent based on content. It also optimizes JPEG and GIF images. The new version has a whole new user interface and is about 3 times faster than the previous version.

Agfa ScanWise 1.2 is now available.

Griffin gPort 1.1 is a driver update for the device that adds serial port capability to G3/BW Macs (via a card that goes in the modem port).
