Utilities Updates: FoldersSynchronizer; VicomsoftFTP; BeHierarchic; PostScript printer driver; more

FoldersSynchronizer 2.1 is now a Carbon application. Preferences are segmented by user, session files are saved with large OS X icons, and if a fileName/folderName conflict occurs while copying, and the fileName contains a dot "." (e.g. "MyFile.rtf"), FS will rename that file to "MyFile.1.rtf" thus avoiding problems with Mac OS X's linking mechanism.

VicomsoftFTP 3.1.5 includes more robust handling of resumable downloads, better flexible support for host directory listings and improved smart translation reliability.

BeHierarchic 4.2b3 displays submenus for items located in the Apple Menu Items. Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 file package support is improved, but incomplete. Other fixes include a crash that could occur when double clicking documents in the Finder. setting BeHierarchic sticks now, and more.

Adobe PostScript printer driver 8.7.2 is compatible with applications that use CarbonLib and restores compatibility with PressReady.

Update: Jack Mlynek writes: "While AdobePS 8.7.2 does restore PressReady compatibility to Mac OS 9.1 and OS X, it does not for Mac OS 8.6."

Web Devil 5.3.2 downloads Web pages for offline browsing. This update fixes interface and stability issues under Mac OS X.

MacSSH 2.1b3 is a Telnet client with SSH2 support, based on BetterTelnet. This update fixes two issues introduced in b2: unfiltered toolbox events in modeless dialogs and an infinite lookup if username is empty.

ZTerm 1.1b4 is terminal emulation software. This version adds Mac OS X support (in a separate version).

FileGeek 2.5.1 is a utility for viewing and editing file attributes. This release fixes issues with the comments field and problems with registration.

clipEdit 2.1.3 can create and edit text, picture and URL clippings. This update fixes a bug that would cause clipEdit to freeze after a long period of use, or when quitting.

Prowler 2.1.2 is an image browser, slide show utility that also creates html image catalogs. This version fixes a crash when trying to open the thumbnail of an image without a resource fork and it adds a "Sort" menu.

MP3 Rage 3.2 is a Gnutella/Napster client, MP3 tag editor, player, cataloger, and organizer. This update improves stability for Mac OS X, fixes interface issues, and adds a number of new features.

Entourage Email Archive 1.4 is a utility to archive messages in a separate database. This release adds the ability to filter email older than a certain date, and it now handles folder names longer than 31 characters.

GLUON PrintTrack 2.53 can track printing info with job numbers from any application. This version fixes a bug in auto-update.

Server Sentinel 2.0.4 monitors email traffic and sends a notification page you if necessary. This update now quits properly to avoid server log errors, it fixes a glitch where clicking the menu bar could dismiss the frontmost dialog box, it removes port 0 from the Internet port database and adds several other adjustments.

MacPopUp 2.5b is a cross-platform LAN-based instant messenger. It can now send messages to multiple users and workgroups, users can belong to multiple groups, and it can print received messages.

Jedit 4.0.7 is the English version of the popular Japanese text editor. It improves the keyboard response in Mac OS X and it adds longer file name support and several bug fixes.

Thoth 1.1.2 is a Usenet newsreader. This update adds an option to have long filenames for extracted binaries under Mac OS X. It also adds a new ignore label priority setting and an option to turn off the default fast threading.

DirectCD patch 1.3b1 adds support for the Yamaha 2100S (tested) and Yamaha 2100E (untested).

Formac ProTV 2.6.1 is software for the TV tuner/video capture card (listed as ProTV Stereo). This revision improves stability, fixes audio signal problems, smoothes the picture while streaming, and it remembers window positions properly. The update is not only for the Pro TV Stereo, a PCI card but also the Pro TV Studio, which is an external Firewire device.
