Utilities Updates: AppleShare IP Web & File Update, Default Folder, ROM Accelerator, more

AppleShare IP Web & File Update 6.1.1has been released. It fixes a memory leak bug and eliminates the vulnerability of the AppleShare IP 6.1 Web & File server to a denial of service attack known as "Winnuke."

Rod Paine reports several instances where, after installing this update, the server would not open at startup.

Default Folder 3.0 is out. This new version of this great utility for enhancing Open and Save dialog boxes adds support for Apple's new Navigation Services dialogs.

ROM Accelerator 1.1b1 is a new utility that promises to speed up your Mac by placing the contents of ROM into RAM. Do not use it on an iMac or a G3/BW, since these Macs already have this feature. This update (the 1.0 version was first mentioned last time) has a "much safer memory allocation algorithm."

EpsonShare 1.0b4 is a new utility that allows you to share a Stylus Color Epson printer between several Macintoshes.

"A Better Finder" tools seriesis a single utility that installs all three "Better Finder" utilities: "A Better Finder Rename", "A Better Finder Select", and "A Better Finder Creators & Types."

Bookmark Booster 2.0 has been released. It "is now a real Mac OS program and no longer based on AppleScript. It also has updated USB- and Firewire-Guides

Coloristic 1.1 is a free screen magnification utility. New features include a grid option, more color value formatting options, and a tape measure feature for counting pixels.

DiskDup 2.9.1is out.

Tex-Edit Plus 2.5.5 is out.

Sherlock Menu1.1 is the latest version of of a utility that provides direct menubar access to Sherlock.
