Utilities Updates

The Tilery Version 4.0.1 is out. As predicted last time, it fixes two bugs and one "misbehavior" in version 4.0. The bug fixes prevent crashes that could occur when using Desktop Printing, and when selecting a new target for a damaged folder tile. The "misbehavior" was a new and more aggressive implementation of the "Always Hide Others" feature; by popular demand it is once again possible to circumvent the feature.

IXMICROS's Twin Turbo 128 installer v.4.0.5 is out. It fixesvarious bugs and problems. However, Alan Foral claims that, after he installed this update, he started getting crashes whenever he opened a Photoshop 5.0 file. Reverting to TwinTurbo 4.0.2 eliminated the problem.

Update: Russ Alman (writing to MacNN) noted: "I have discovered that the text problems in FileMaker Pro with TwinTurbo drivers are back in 4.05. Both the OEM driver for 9600's and the standard Twin Turbo drivers are affected."

Keith Esau adds: "I tried the 4.0.5 Mac driver. Almost every application I had misplaced text vertically. Reverting to the 4.0.2 driver fixed the problem."

Worm Scanner 2.0.1is out. This utility for detecting the AutoStart worm is completely rewritten and has several new features. Update: Version 2.0 (just announced earlier today) turned out to have a bug that affected systems earlier than 8.0. Opening the preferences dialog or about box led to error messages and probably a crash.

ProJPEG 3.0 is out. It's a major upgrade for this JPEG compression utility.

WebChecker 1.2.0 is available. It fixes a crashing bug when parsing very large web pages.

OneApp Address Book 1.0.2 is available. OneApp Address Book is a practical telephone and address program for Macintosh that allows to quickly and easily manage addresses, phone numbers, URLs and Email addresses.
