NameCleaner 1.9.5 is out. It manipulates file names and types. It is specially designed to help move files to and from foreign file systems such as MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows95, Windows NT, NetWare and Unix. The update adds dozens of mappings between PC Extensions and Mac file types, bringing the total to over 100.
A Better Finder Creators & Types 1.6 is out. It is a contextual menu plugin which allows users to quickly change the creator and type properties of single or multiple files. Version 1.6 introduces the interactive creation and editing of "droplet" mini-applications which can be used to automate routine tasks. With droplets associating files with applications becomes a one click & drag operation.
REALbasic 2.0.1 for Mac OS is shipping. This free update improves overall reliability and adds QuickTime 4.0 video streaming support and allows users to directly access the Mac OS and Windows toolboxes.
Dantz Retrospect 4.1 driver 1.7 is out. It is a plug-in extension for Retrospect 4.1 or Retrospect Express 4.1.

FileMaker Pro ODBC (preview) is out. FileMaker announced the release of a "Technology Preview" version of its FileMaker Pro Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver. It "provides a standard way for one application to request database information from another. With the FileMaker Pro ODBC driver you can access "live" FileMaker Pro data to do a mail merge with word processing applications that support ODBC, create charts with Microsoft Excel, create a Microsoft Visual Basic application that shares information with FileMaker Pro, and much, much more."
A public beta version of WebSTAR Server Suite 4.0 is now available. This upcoming major upgrade "sports a dramatically faster Web server, adds a new SMTP/POP/IMAP email server with LDAP and remote Web-based email access capabilities, incorporates Lasso-based FileMaker Pro and ODBC database publishing capabilities, adds integrated SSLv2 and SSLv3 with support for multiple certificates, IP addresses and encryption options, plus dozens of other improvements to the core WebSTAR servers and plug-ins."
