Using the Timbuktu Pro 4.0.6 Updater: a caution

CNET staff
Barry Conner describes a problem he had using Netopia's Timbuktu Pro 4.0.6 Updater to update his 4.0.2 version (the glitch was confirmed by Netopia's Tech Support):
"If the Timbuktu Pro ƒ folder (containing the application, address book, etc.) have been moved since initial TB2 installation to a drive or partition other than the boot partition, the updater will only update the portions of TB2 that are on the boot partition (the extension type components). After restarting, TB2 will still successfully accept remote connections, but any attempts to launch the application will fail with an 'application is too old for this extension' message. I tried copying the Timbuktu Pro ƒ folder to the boot partition and rerunning the updater, but it failed/complained as soon as the updater encountered files that had already been changed to 4.0.6 (the extension). So don't run the updater unless your Timbuktu Pro ƒ folder is on the boot device." Otherwise, you may have to completely reinstall Timbuktu Pro.
