This app currently offers the fastest and easiest way to browse Craigslist from your mobile device. The primary advantage to using an app over the mobile Web site is the ability to set alerts. Instead of setting a reminder to look through listings for the items you want to buy or sell, an alert will do the work for you.

If you don't have the Mokriya Craigslist app, install a copy on your Android smartphone or tablet. The icon for the app will just say "Craigslist."

Upon opening the app, you'll see a single navigation bar. Tap the two bars to the far left and then press Searches (the bell icon).

Now you can add alerts for things you want to find on Craigslist. Change the category by tapping the upper left of the pop-up box. Likewise, change locations by tapping the upper right area.

Update: If you are using an iPod Touch, you will not receive alerts at this time since the app relies on GPS for this feature.

Make sure you don't get too specific (unless necessary) in the "Looking for?" textbox. It is important to remember that everyone can make typos or just plain spelling errors when creating an ad on Craigslist. Because of this, you may want to create multiple searches or include a brand name, if applicable.

Once you type in what you're seeking, decide if you want to search the whole post or just the title. The Entire Post options means if someone doesn't include the name in the title, the app will search through the text in the body of ad. When looking for a specific tangible item, it's a good idea to check the Has Images box. This will save your time if the item isn't the color or style you're interested in. On items for sale, you'll see boxes for Owner and Dealer, with the latter being businesses that want to sell the item. Similarly, on job or gig postings, you'll see choices for Pay or No Pay.

Now you can refrain from checking Craigslist every single day for the things you want. And even if you still feel inclined to look, you won't feel so guilty on the days when you forget to do so.
