Use AlbumShare on your iPhone to create, share photo albums
An iOS app aims to make it as easy as possible to quickly share photo albums using a text message.
There's no shortage of methods to share photos and photo albums using our smartphones. Whether you prefer Photo Stream, or Dropbox, or Facebook, or Google+, or -- well, you get the point -- there is always room for another photo-sharing service. Or is there? We'll save that debate for another post.
For now, you have to leave room for one more app. With the free iOS app called AlbumShare you can create and share a photo album through a text message, with no account required to create or view an album. Creating an album is as simple as selecting the photos you'd like to share from your Camera Roll, then selecting who you would like to send the viewing link to.
Should the person you send the link to not have an iPhone, they will be restricted to simply viewing the photos either one by one, or in a slideshow. iPhone users will not only be able to view photos, but they'll also have the ability to comment and add photos to the albums themselves. This is an improvement over Photo Stream, where the album's owner is the only person able to upload additional photos.
I've been told by the AlbumShare team they are considering allowing all users to leave comments, regardless of platform. An Android app will come after the iOS version has all of the kinks worked out. For now, anyone can still view any shared albums through any mobile or desktop browser.
