USB Printer Sharing and HP: a duplex printing bug? Eric McMurry writes: "Apple's USB Printer Sharing and HP's 970cxi printer work well for me, except when the duplex option is enabled on the shared printer. The print will be spooled, but an error will come up while it is in the queue stating that the duplex option is not installed. Duplex printing works fine on the server where the printer is connected. I have tried this with two clients, one 9.0 one 9.04." Mac OS X terms and definitions This article has a useful list of Mac OS X terms and definitions. BrowserTune2000 tests "if your browser's most essential functions are working properly, and if your Internet connection is up to speed!" While designed with Windows versions of the browsers in mind, it should also be useful for Macs: "We test for things such as Mac and UNIX audio and video standards support. While the focus here is Windows, no matter what OS you use, this test suite will thoroughly examine all your browser's most essential features." USB Support Restart bug: a follow-up Regarding yesterday's item on a USB Support 1.4.1 Restart bug: R.E. Kramer notes that Orange Micro tech support told him that, with FireWire 2.4 and USB Card Support 1.4.1, the extensions installed by OrangeLink PCI card are no longer needed. FireWire OrangeLink Enabler and FireWire OrangeLink PC Card should be disabled." It's not clear if doing this will fix the symptom, but it seems worth a try.
