US Postal Service will have Mac compatible postage site "in near future"

CNET staff

Our recent coverage of the USPS Postage Generator's incompatibility with Mac OS X browsers has generated intense discussion, and also resulted in a response from USPS' management regarding the upcoming release of a Macintosh version:

"We are planning to extend all of the shipping label printing features to Mac users in the near future. In the meanwhile, you may continue to use the Priority Mail Label without postage application at this URL: http://www.usps.com/cgi-bin/api/shipping_label.htm."

In the meantime, users can try SwordfishExpress; a free, Cocoa application that integrates with the United States Postal Service to generate Delivery and Signature Confirmation barcode labels. It is the only software written exclusively for OS X that has the ability to print Delivery and Signature Confirmation labels for First Class Mail parcels.
