Updating to Toast 3.5.5 can avoid data loss problem
Toast 3.5.5 has been out for a couple of months.
As reader Kit Cutler discovered, make sure you update to it. He fell victim to a serious problem with previous versions, as described on the Adaptec Web page: "With versions of Toast prior to 3.5.5 there is a small (but possible) chance of data loss if you use Toast's temporary partition feature to create partitions on, or mount partitions from, drive volumes larger than 4Gb. It's not the size of the temporary partition, rather the size of the volume the partition file is stored on that makes the difference. The potential for data loss increases if this drive is very full."
