Universal Binary version of RealPlayer released

Universal Binary version of RealPlayer released

CNET staff

After much anticipation, Real Networks has released a Universal Binary version of RealPlayer, the player of popular Web media formats including RealVideo and RealAudio.

The new release is the first that runs natively on Intel-based Macs, and therefore allows media content to be played inline using Universal Binary browsers like Safari and Firefox -- side-stepping an issue we previously reported where PowerPC-only plug-ins do not mix with browsers running in Intel-native mode.
