UnFinder and Word 98 conflict

CNET staff
Several readers report a conflict between UnFinder (the winning hack from the MacHack Best Hack Contest - as reported last time) and Word 98: The cursor fails to change from an arrow cursor to the "I-beam" type cursor when positioned over text. The result is that you cannot click on the document to insert the cursor at a specific location; the Mac returns an error beep and does nothing. The cursor becomes inoperative when in a Word document. Disabling UnFinder fixes things. (Thanks Steve Branson and David Wood.)
Aron Spencer describes essentially the same bug: "In the edit portion of a Word document, the cursor becomes transparent and doesn't do anything. There is an arrow border which you can see through, but you can't select anything. Removing UnFinder (and restarting) eliminates the symptoms."
