Unexpected delete in Address Book 3.0.3

CNET staff

There is a small quirk in the version of Address Book 3.0.3 (the release included with Mac OS X 10.2.4) that can cause inadvertent deletes of contact cards.

MacFixIt reader John Lin writes:

"Without going into edit mode, select some text in the Note field and do a 'Cut' - either through keyboard command or menu. The card is immediately deleted. The clipboard contains the selected text, but the card is gone. If you don't immediately Undo the delete, the card is lost."

We've confirmed this bug in-house. It seems strange interface design that the entire card is deleted, but only the text that you have selected is actually copied to the clipboard.
