Two new entry-level cameras for Nikon 1 range

Nikon has released two new interchangeable lens camera (ILC) models in its eponymous Nikon 1 range.
Just months after announcing the Nikon 1 J2, a new camera has superseded it already. Fortunately for Australian buyers, the camera never made it to our shores, but anyone else who did invest will be disappointed. There are no surprises for guessing the name of the J2's successor.
The Nikon 1 J3 has virtually the same internal features as the company's flagship ILC, called the Nikon 1 V2. That is, a 14.2-megapixel CX-sized CMOS sensor, 15 frames per second continuous shooting and 73-point phase-detection/135-area contrast AF system.
A Best Capture mode grabs the last 1.3 seconds of footage when you press the shutter, so you can then select the most appropriate frame after the moment has occurred.
Also announced was a simpler and smaller camera in the Nikon 1 range, dubbed the S1. There are few physical controls, and all manual control is hidden within the menu system, which makes this camera well and truly targeted toward point-and-shooters. The S1 has a 10.1-megapixel CX-sized CMOS sensor, plus the same AF system and burst shooting speed as the other Nikon 1 cameras.
Both new models support the optional wireless adapter. On top of the cameras, two new lenses are available: a 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 ultra wide-angle zoom lens with a 100-degree angle of view, and a 10-100mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens.
