Tumblr has added a new search feature designed to make it much easier to find exactly what your looking for on site's more than 65 billion posts.

Tumblr said its search function has been rebuilt from "front to back," in a blog post announcing the new feature on Friday. The new search lets users input multiple tags to find a particular topic and searches based off of key words or phrases. For example, Tumblr said, "Searching for 'government shutdown' now returns posts tagged #government shutdown or that mention 'government shutdown.' Searching '#government shutdown' will limit the results to posts with that #tag."

In addition, Tumblr has added a new Filter menu to find items by post type and a related blogs section has been to the search results.

Tumblr's new search feature is available now. In addition to search improvements, Tumblr also made its explicit content filter easier to find by moving it onto the search results page.
