Troubleshooting Security Update 2003-07-14: Mounting problems? Try manually logging in

As previously noted, several users who installed the Apple Security Update 2003-07-14 v.1.0 were unable to mount disk images after restarting.

In at least some cases, this problem occurs with any user that has 'automatic log in' checked. The workaround is to log out then log in with the user password, or permanently turn off 'automatic log in' and manually log in at startup.

After re-logging in, removable media icons again mount to the desktop for some readers.
