Dave Oshel received a reply from ShareBuilder's technical support department regarding previously reported issues with Safari:

"We regret any difficulties that you may have experienced while attempting to access your ShareBuilder Account with your preferred internet browser. Our Technology department is aware of the issue and are currently working on a solution. Customers using Netscape 6.0 and higher, Internet Explorer 4.0 and higher, and Mozilla 5.0 compliant browsers (such as Safari 5.0) will have access to the ShareBuilder Web site within one business day.

"If you continue to experience problems accessing ShareBuilder after this time, please verify you are using the latest version of your browser..."

Verizon Secure Site issues According to several readers and Verizon's own tech support department, the company's new secure on-line services web site is compatible only with Windows users and the site requires the use of Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.

MacFixIt reader Jeff Schwarz writes "When asked about the site's compatibility of the other browsers, including Opera and Safari, I was once again told that the site would only work with IE 5.5 and above.  However, I did discover that some elements of the site worked successfully with Safari."

UPDATE: Verizon technical support has let us know that they are working on the problem with Macs logging into the company's secure site, and said users can temporarily access the system from this URL: https://www.verizonwireless.com/vzwapp/vzserve/loginform

Security warning about Auto-Fill When Auto-Fill is enabled and "Other Forms" is checked in Safari's preferences, the browser will record data entered into any and all fields. This includes but is not limited to addresses, phone numbers, and credit card numbers.

This happens transparently, so other users accessing your system can inadvertently be presnted with sensitive information when filling out other forms. It is possible to delete the information for various sites in the AutoFill preference pane.

Remember, if you want a truly secure system, do not allow any outside physical access.
