Anti-aliasing Some users report problems with anti-aliased text after upgrading to Java 1.4.1 under Mac OS X 10.2.x. BC Kelly reports

"Using Safari with Java 1.4.1 at Yahoo Games Pinochle the text while at a 'table' is jagged and thin, after being smooth and full before."

Banking site problems Patrick Yeung reports problems using his banking Web site with the Java update in a pre-release version of Safari:

"I updated to Java 1.4.1 through Software Update today and then tried to access HSBC Hong Kong web site. I found I cannot login my account again with Safari (v64) but can with Internet Explorer. The HSBC system message showed 'You cannot bookmark or directly access this page.'"

Individual applet failures We have received reports that DB Visualizer, the ISPQ video conferencing software are having problems with Java 1.4.1. Brian Dorman reports that Borland JBuilder also fails with the update:

"Borland JBuilder stopped working. The triangle under the icon in the Dock pulses for over one minute and then turns solid without any other activity from the app. Right clicking on the icon gives me a popup menu that says "Application Not Responding". If I choose quit from the popup menu nothing happens. Jbuilder does not show up in the 'Force Quit' list. The only way to stop it is to log out. Uninstalling and reinstalling JBuilder did not help."

What is fixed Jeff Peatrowsky reports that he can finally use Games.com under Mac OS X with the Java 1.4.1 update:

"I installed the Java update and for the first time was able to use the Games.com web site for playing boggle. Nothing worked in OS X before and I had to resort to Internet Explorer in Classic."
