Troubleshooting Mac OS X 10.2.5 (#9): USB MiniDisc audio

CNET staff

USB MiniDisc audio After upgrading to Mac OS X 10.2.5, several readers have been unable to use the USB audio out function of several USB-connected MiniDisc players. Peter Wiley writes:

"I couldn't get audio out with my HHb PORTADISC MiniCD recorder. Rebooting and importing in OS 9.2 solves the problem which suggests it's a problem with 10.2.5's USB audio. Audio imported under 10.2.5 (the process seems to work fine until one listens to the imported file) is static-like with no recognizable features. It's unclear whether this static is generated by the import or just noise from the computer. The problem is unrelated to my main computer because I get the same results attempting to import to my iBook (also running 10.2.5)."
