Troubleshooting Mac OS 9.2: more info

CNET staff
Continuing our coverage of Mac OS 9.2 troubleshooting issues (see previous item):

Virtual PC Kurt Tappe writes: "I have been running Virtual PC 4.0.2 under Mac OS 9.2 on my new G4/867. It runs well most of the time but yesterday while idling, it crashed. The dialog said something along the lines of 'Virtual PC has encountered an unexpected error. Please report this to Connectix technical support.' Connectix support said that they do not currently support Virtual PC under 9.2, and I should expect such problems for the time being. They will release a 9.2-certified update of Virtual PC later this year."

Better USB support Allen Hancock reports: "Hot plugging my Interex USB scrolling mouse works properly under the new OS. I no longer have to restart in order for the scroll wheel to function."

Better FireWire support Brian Filipiak writes: "I didn't need to load my VST FireWire HD drivers onto my new G4 QuickSilver machine. When I plugged the drive in, it simply mounted to the desktop. I confirmed this by trying on a 9.1 iBook (dual USB), where it didn't mount, but it did after upgrading that machine to 9.2."
