iTunes 4 audio lacks "punch" Several corroborated reports indicate a strange problem - which we are not expriencing on in-house systems - where sound is "muddy" or "muffled" after upgrading to iTunes 4.

MacFixIt reader Craig Crossman:

"After listening to files with iTunes 3, iTunes 4 with the SAME sound files literally has no 'punch' to it. The volume of the songs is lower for one thing. But the sound files just sound lifeless. Going back and playing them with iTunes 3 sounds great. Playing with the iTunes 4 equalizer has little effect and actually makes things worse if I try and boost it too much."

Public streams The new tool ServerStore 1.0 (noted in the Utilities Updates section below), released yesterday, allows access to a database of public iTunes 4 streams.
