Photo CD archiving Several readers report problems burning CDs with archived photos.

Eric Protzman writes "I have been unable to archive on iPhoto 2 with internal CD burner on iMac 600. Repeated 'Burn error.' Tried multiple discs. Using an iPhoto rejected disc iTunes burning functions fine."

Other readers complain that older CD-RW drives cannot be used with the current iteration if iPhoto, and hope for an "export to .dmg image." function:

"If iPhoto could provide an option to export the albums as ".dmg" then owners of still respectable Mac systems could use a workaround to archive iPhoto albums neatly and quickly."

Artifacts in older photos A portion of users' photos are being damaged in the conversion process to iPhoto 2's library. Bob Winters writes:

"I downloaded iPhoto 2 last night, opened the program and it informed me that the program would convert my photos to work only on the newer version of iPhoto. I went forward with terrible results. All of my photos exhibit artifacts which really are evident in any photo which has a visible straight line."
