Following up on our previous coverage of Eudora 5.1:

Signature tear line added Chuck Shotton notes: "As of version 5.0, Eudora has started adding a tear line (i.e., --) prior to any signature file that is appended to the message. There appears to be no way to disable this." [Note: Ordinarily, you would want to leave it there, as it is used by most email software to signal a signature and thus not include it in a quoted reply.]

Update: Julian Koh replies: "Signature delimiter in Eudora can be turned off using <x-eudora-setting:13703> and <x-eudora-setting:5904>.

Update: A Qualcomm rep notes: "It is important for the sig separator to be '-- ' (e.g., dash-dash-space) for it to be recognized. Most people use "--" when the put it in their sigs manually, and this breaks the functionality."

Address Book conduit Michael Newman discovered that "if you use the full Eudora 5.1 installer to update an existing version, the Eudora Address Book conduit doesn't get installed. You have to do a 'new' installation for the conduit to appear. This was confirmed with Eudora."

Update: Qualcomm replies: "While it is true that this was a problem with the initial installer released, the installer was fixed a few hours after its initial release and no longer has this problem."

Age Sensitive dates Kee Hinckley offers: "If you want Eudora 5.1 to display Age-Sensitive dates the way 5.0 did (without the time), use the following links: <x-eudora-setting:6109=^1> and <x-eudora-setting:6110=^2>. Note that you will not see the results immediately, as Eudora caches the mailbox display, possibly even after quitting and restarting Eudora. Try opening an unopened mailbox."
