Can't install OS X preview version without 6.0.4 This MacFixIt Forums thread (OS X AppleWorks not available to AppleWorks 6) notes that if you install AppleWorks 6.1.2 in Mac OS 9, you will no longer be able to install the OS X Preview version of AppleWorks. It only installs if you have AppleWorks 6.0.4 on your drive. This is confirmed on Apple's AppleWorks 6.1.2 Update page:

"If you need to run the updater again later on the same computer (for example, if you installed Mac OS 9.1 or later, including Mac OS X, after updating, and you want to receive the preview version of AppleWorks 6.1 for Mac OS X), you must reinstall AppleWorks 6.0.4 first. (If you don't have AppleWorks 6.0.4 on your AppleWorks 6 CD, you must install AppleWorks from the CD first, and then update to AppleWorks 6.0.4.)"

AppleWorks 6.1.2 crashes A MacFixIt Forums thread notes that a bug in AppleWorks 6.1.2 that causes a crash whenever you try to save documents as html files - at least when run from Mac OS X. A similar crash occurs when you try to access the button bar preferences. Another reader noted a crash when selecting Show Accents.
