Troubleshooting Apple Security update: reader reports

Several readers have reported various (mostly unconfirmed) behaviors with the Apple Security Update April 2002. Here they are:

Stickies data affected? Brad Anderson writes: "I installed the latest Security Update from Apple. Just like the last update, it killed my Stickies file in OS X."

AOL via TCP glitch, and fix Tim Leed writes: "I installed the Apple OS X security update today and afterwards when AOL via TCP attempts to connect, it dies. I tried reinstalling the latest AOL beta client, but that did not help. Here is what finally did work: Delete the contents of the America Online preferences folder, then delete several files from drive volume/Users/Shared/America Online - 'Access Numbers,' 'Art Database,' 'Disconnect Log,' and 'Session Diagnostics.' Now the AOL client launches properly. At this point I'm not 100% certain that the Security Update alone was the cause of this problem, except that AOL stopped working once it was installed."

More TCP issues? Ashley Karyl writes: "After installing the update I have found that my ADSL connection to the Internet blocks every 20 minutes or so and I am unable to continue navigating unless I reboot the Mac. I have NetBarrier installed, however, even when disabled the problem occurs."

Update: Ashley adds: "If I restart the computer with the standard 'client only' configuration in NetBarrier I have no problems, whereas my previous customized set up that had always worked in the past, now has problems after the update which only emerge after about 20 minutes on the net."
