Trashing QuickTime Preferences We previously reported that trashing QuickTime 6's preferences resolved a users DHCP connection issues. Now MacFixIt reader Georgann says that deleting QuickTime's preference file resolved an odd sluggish Logitech mouse issues:

"I was having problems with a very sluggish Logitech cordless optical mouse. No accelerated scroll. Slower than settings. Upgraded to very lattest verson for Jaguar. Settings and resettings did not resolve sluggish behavior of the mouse. Read your tips for the day. Thought there may be a connection with QuickTime and throwing out the QuickTime 6 preferences files as suggested on MacFixIt for another problem altogether set the slow mouse situation completely straight."

MacReporter Vs. Acrobat Reader Kenneth Marcus reports an easily resolved conflict between Adobe's Acrobat Reader and the shareware utility MacReporter:

"I installed the new Acrobat Reader (5.1) today, and immediately lost MacReporter functionality. After trying a number of procedures, I trashed both Dock preference files (one in the User library, one in the Computer library), and all is well (except, of course, all of my dock setting, which will need to be reset - oh, well)."
