Toshiba 4K notebook arrives in Australia
After showing the technology off at CES, Toshiba brings one of the world's first Ultra HD resolution notebooks to Australia.

After unveiling an Ultra HD notebook at CES this year, Toshiba has brought the high-resolution display technology to Australia as part of its 2014 consumer notebook line-up.
The Toshiba Satellite P50t features an Ultra HD display that is billed as "one of the world’s first 4K Ultra HD touchscreen displays in a 15.6-inch notebook".
It is also the world's first notebook to be granted Technicolor Colour Certification – a seal of approval that ensures what the user sees on their screen is a true-to-life representation of the actual colour of the object displayed. The team at Technicolor tout this as a way for manufacturers to set their products apart and to guarantee colour accuracy when consumers are doing things like online shopping on their notebook.
Beyond the screen, the Satellite P50t features an Intel Quad-Core i7 processor, Harman Kardon speakers (which can be used to play music even when the laptop is off) and an "enthusiast-class" AMD Radeon R9 M265X 2GB graphics card with GDDR5 memory. The brushed aluminium-finished body also features a frameless LED-backlit keyboard and edge-to-edge LCD glass.
The P50t is part of Toshiba's 32-model 2014 line-up, and will retail from AU$1699 to $2499. It is available today from major retailers including Bing Lee, Dick Smith, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi and Myer.
