Tip of the day: stripped apps may not work with update installers

CNET staff
Here's yet anothervariation on a commonly reported problem: If you strip out 680X0 code from a "fat" application, using a utility such as Spring Cleaning, you may not be able to upgrade the application later on - as the Installer will not recognize it as a valid copy of the program. Fred Summerfelt reported this happened to him when trying to upgrade from Conflict Catcher 8.0.5 to 8.0.6. The solution, of course, is to reinstall a clean copy of the application to be upgraded.
