Timbuktu Conference and NetMeeting problem confirmed

CNET staff
Ronald Guest sent the following note to Netopia: "I just upgraded from NetMeeting 4.8 to 5.0, including the 5.0.1 Timbuktu Conferencing application. I want to use it with NetMeeting 3.01 running on a Windows NT 4.0 box. The problem is that Conference cannot seem to gain control of a shared application. I can see the window and observe the Windows NT user but all I ever get is the red circle with the line through it. Clicking on the window does not give me control. The NetMeeting user is able to gain control of a shared Macintosh application."
Netopia Technical Support replied: "The problem you're reporting is one that was recently reported to us and that our engineers have been able to duplicate. It appears that Microsoft changed their code significantly in the new version of NetMeeting, 3.01. Our engineers are investigating a fix for the problem. I will contact you when we have more information on the problem."
