They say marriage works best when compromises are made, and if this story is any indication, they might just be right.

Gil Kar of Israel wanted a swimming pool out back, but his wife wanted to keep their modest backyard open for playing soccer and other games with the kids, he said in a YouTube post. So, he engineered something that gives them the best of both worlds.

In less than three months, he designed and built a system to hide an in-ground swimming pool under the family's yard. Now, when they want to go for a dip, a motorized platform covered in synthetic grass slides open and reveals the cool, blue water-filled treasure underneath. Voila!
