The rise of lo-fi photography

A panel discussion from this year's Digital Show covers the rise of lo-fi, Lomography and analog photography.

At this year's Digital Show, CNET Australia hosted a series of panels on the changing face of photography.

This is an edited version of the panel covering the thriving photographic communities that work in fields other than conventional digital photography. Our panellists discuss Lomography, as well as analog/film and the role of mobile photography in promoting the lo-fi aesthetic.

The panellists:

  • Mel Dixon: photographer, advocate for analog and Lomography cameras

  • Lisa Saad: award-winning commercial photographer, AIPP master of photography and mobile photographer, part of Photo A Day

  • Richard Plumridge: analog photographer, Melbourne Silver Mine committee member.
