The closer December 18 comes, the more excited you get.

Which means the more "Star Wars" stuff will be thrust in your face in order for your excitement to reach uncontrollable levels.

You have to love marketing, don't you?

Thursday saw the emergence of another new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" TV spot.

This one is slightly less biblical than the last, which appeared over the weekend. Here we have hints at exposition, explosion and compulsion.

We have stormtroopers trooping through a storm of fire in order to intimidate and conquer. And then there's our two new young heroes, Finn and Rey, who to me sound like two bartenders you might come across on a Friday night in Ireland.

At one point in this quick-cutting tease, we see Finn with a lightsaber. But is this weapon now all it's cracked up to be? Doesn't it get knocked away by something that looks like a wooden stick? You tell me.

We can conclude, though, that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will have plenty of fighting, lots of flying machines, and young heroes placed there carefully for the young and heroic audience that will flock to theaters.

Oh, and there will also be Harrison Ford. We see him here briefly. He's seen it all before. He's going to be more laconic than a country policeman encountering a stumbling drunk on the street after midnight -- after Finn and Rey have given him one too many Guinnesses.

But will the world be saved? We can only hype.
