The Venom GT combines a high-tech, lightweight British chassis with a powerful American V8. This is the latest release from Hennessey, pairs the Lotus Elise with a ZR1-sourced 6.2-liter LS9 V8. That combination is enough deliver a reported 2.4-second 0 to 62 mph and a 262 mph top speed.

The Venom GT comes in 725, 1,000 and 1,200 hp varieties. It weighs less than 2,400 lbs (1,071 kilos) thanks to carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels. Stopping power is delivered via Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers in rear clamping down on 15-inch carbon ceramic rotors, Hennessey revealed today in a press release.

Only 10 of these cars will be made each year. The company has reported four preorders already. The company to plans make the cars available through dealerships in the Middle East, Europe, Russia, Australia and Asia.
