Watch this: Ep. 595: Where we make up our decision

As usual, today's Friday episode of The 404 Podcast covers a random variety of topics, including the next Spider-man film, a software program that recognizes sarcasm, and our favorite subject: Chinese people.

We start things off with a controversial editorial that suggests the next Spider-Man should be played by anyone but another white guy. Back in January, Sony announced that Tobey Maguire will not reprise his role in the next Spidey movie.

There's already a list of possible candidates, but many superfans are suggesting a non-white Peter Parker to fill the red and blue boots.

Who will play the next Spider-Man? Probably not this guy.

In fact, Donald Glover is already petitioning for the spot, but we have our reservations about departing from the original depiction of the character. And while we have the idea in our heads, why not cast an Asian guy as Spider-Man...Spider-Mang, maybe? Tune in to get the full story!

Scientists in Jerusalem have developed a program that can recognize human sarcasm online. They're hoping marketers and PR agencies will use the technology to analyze consumer reports on sites like Amazon and Twitter.

Yeah, that sounds like a REALLY GREAT IDEA, scientists. It's not like we have bigger problems threatening to decimate our marine and coastal environments. Seriously dudes, good luck with that.

We've arrived at another Friday, which means that it's time once again for Wilson to PREDICT THE FUTURE. We've got a grab bag of random questions for our Tangstradamus, like who will win the 2010 NBA playoffs, how the iPad will improve over time, and when we can expect Jeff's two-hour-old HTC Evo to spontaneously explode.
