Chris Lawson attended the "Tech Updates in Education" seminar on March 23 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He sent a detailed summary of what was covered.

For example, regarding Mac OS X Server's NetBoot feature, the speaker noted: "All translucent Macs are network-bootable off OS X Server. Simply restart to restore previous state of machine. Hold down N key to NetBoot. OS X Server's IP assignment works by querying the Mac address of the NetBooting machine and assigning an IP address based on that (effectively a static IP). An extension is available to hide the local hard disk from the user so that the local disk can always mirror the server and not be modified (so that local disk can be used as boot volume if server is down)."

Chris said he intends to post the full text of the email on his web site (it was not yet posted as of this writing).
